Jayson Youmans of Ulmer, S.C., takes a break at the Augusta Futurity to practice on a roping dummy in the parking lot at the Augusta-Richmond County Civic Center.
Mr. Youmans and Jimmy Clark help transport cattle to the cutting horse show. The 23rd annual Augusta Futurity started a nine-day run Friday with competition in the $20,000 Non-Pro Any Age class and the $50,000 Amateur Any Age class. Four events are scheduled for today, starting at 8 a.m.
