The 33rd annual Augusta Futurity: it all adds up!
- 1 night of championship bull riding!
- 7 days of the best cutting action east of the Mississippi !
- 8 days to buy the best western wear, riding equipment and other fancy do-dads!
The 33rd Augusta Futurity: it all adds up with events for all ages and in the end Augusta wins!
All cutting competition from Sunday, Jan. 22, through the final rounds on Saturday night, Jan. 28, will take place at JAMES BROWN ARENA, 601 Seventh St., in Augusta.
HERE ARE SOME HIGHLIGHTS SCHEDULED FOR THE 33rd ANNUAL AUGUSTA FUTURITY:
CHAMPIONSHIP BULL RIDING
Saturday, Jan. 21, begins 8 p.m. James Brown Arena. Benefit USC Aiken baseball scholarship fund. Separate admission tickets required through James Brown Arena box office.
WRANGLER FAMILY FUN FEST
Saturday, Jan. 28, roughly 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on front plaza of James Brown Arena. Music, dancing, arts and crafts and more. Free to public.
WESTERN THEME VENDORS
Shop for the best of western clothing, riding equipment, jewelry, art works and other essentials for cowboys and cowgirls Saturday, Jan 21, through Saturday, Jan. 28, in lobby and downstairs of James Brown Arena.
Vendors expand into adjacent Bell Auditorium for Western Expo beginning Wednesday, Jan. 25, and continuing through the final night of the Futurity on Jan. 28.
OFFICIAL CUTTING ACTION
- 9 a.m. until completion; Monday, Jan. 23, through Friday, Jan. 27, at James Brown Arena.
- Concludes with 4-Year-Old Open and 4-Year-Old Non-Pro final rounds that kick off with Opening Final Night Ceremonies at 5:30 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 28, James Brown Arena.
OTHER FUTURITY OFFERINGS
- Area 18 cutting for scholarship money featuring youth riders from Georgia, South Carolina and North Carolina; begins 6:30 p.m. Friday, Jan. 27, James Brown Arena.
- Riding and Training Seminar conducted by four-time Pittsburgh Steelers Super Bowl champion Mel Blount, 7 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 25, James Brown Arena.
- Horse sale of some of the best quarter horses, begins 9 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 28, in James Brown Arena.
- ACCHA Subscribed Stallion Stakes Auction, follows horse sale approximately 2 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 28, James Brown Arena.
