Stallion Stakes Incentive Program paid out $37,300 to owners of 16 horses sired by a participating stallion

Horses born in 2013 are eligible to be nominated for The Augusta Futurity’s seventh annual Subscribed Stallion Incentive Program in the 2017 Augusta Futurity.

The program continues to give cowboys and cowgirls an extra incentive to perform well at the 2017 show.

Held in conjunction with the Atlantic Coast Cutting Horse Association, last year’s program paid out $37,300 to owners of 16 horses sired by a participating stallion in the Incentive Program.

Horses born in 2012 were eligible to be nominated for the program in the 2016 Augusta Futurity.

Of the total purse paid out, $18,299 was paid to eight owners in the Futurity Open category, $13,372 went to owners of five horses in the Futurity Non-Pro division and $5,630 was paid to three owners in the 4-Year-Old Unlimited Amateur category.

High Brow Clay 012, ridden by Austin Shepard and owned by Plantation Farms, earned $5,123 for the top run in the Futurity Open.

Amber Czisny, aboard Meradas Molly Mac, was the top winner in the Futurity Non-Pro finals. Not only did she win the event outright for her first Augusta Futurity championship, Czisny also took home an incentive check for $4,011.

Dennis Branham rode Smart Travelin Cat to an incentive check worth $2,646 in the 4-Year-Old Unlimited Amateur division.

The Augusta Stallion Stakes Incentive Program began in 2006 to help create and offer additional money to all 4-year-olds entered in the Augusta Futurity and sired by participating stallions.

Stallion owners donate a breeding service to their stallions with a breeding to be used in the same year.

Money raised from the 2016 Augusta Futurity’s Stallion Stakes Auction and Incentive Program will be pro-rated as cash bonuses in the 2021 Incentive Fund.

All 2017 foals sired by participating stallions entered in the Augusta Futurity in their 4-year-old year (2021) will be eligible to compete for this incentive purse.
